Whether you are new to Halifax or a long-time Haligonian, allow new connections to bloom at the Newcomer Picnic! Bring a blanket or a chair to have some snacks and mingle, or join us for lawn games and bingo, the choice is yours! Get friending at this event co-hosted by Queer Arabs Halifax, the Rainbow Refugees Association of Nova Scotia, and YMCA Centre for Immigrant Programs.

This 15+ event is free for everyone. There will be a costume contest (we're working towards gathering some prom outfits for those who are looking for a selection!). There will also be a lip sync battle, best runway walk, sensory space (low-sensory space with games), and goodie bags with queer-focused health material.
