Halifax Pride Calendar

The Youth Project is excited to announce that we will once again be hosting a potluck-style picnic for 2SLGBTQIA+ folks who identify as living in a bigger body. This picnic will be a free gathering held on Friday, July 18th, from 12 pm to 2 pm at Hope Blooms 2346 Brunswick Street ( see map on slide 2). This event is for ages 16+ Participants are encouraged to bring any food or snacks of their choice. Participants are also more than welcome to bring food or snacks to share with others, but you are not obligated to. Please be mindful of food allergies if you are planning to bring any items to share. Prepackaged food should come in their original packaging with the ingredients list, and homemade goods should come with an ingredient list if possible. Bringing food or snacks is not mandatory for attending the picnic. The Youth Project will be providing some snacks, drinks, and pastries for those who attend. If you have any specific dietary restrictions, please reach out via email so we can have something prepared for you. Sunscreen will be available on sight. **This event is intended for folks who identify as living in a bigger body (or those who might identify as larger, plus size, etc). We will not be defining what qualifies as a “bigger body.” If you feel like this space is for you and you want to come, then please attend.If you would like a support person to attend alongside you who does not identify as a bigger-bodied person, this is welcome.
