Rebels in Rhinestones is a mini lecture series exploring the rich, rebellious history of drag, burlesque, and queer performance. Four local performers will each present a 20-minute talk on topics such as the origins of burlesque, the legacy of drag kings, and the contributions of BIPOC performers. Through storytelling and history, this series highlights how these art forms have long been sites of resistance, celebration, and self-expression. Whether you're a performer or an audience member, Rebels in Rhinestones offers a deeper understanding of the political, social, and cultural forces that have shaped queer performance. We will also have ASL interpretation available at the event Tickets are available online for $20 per person, plus applicable fees. A limited number of tickets will also be available at the door for $25, so we encourage you to grab yours early to secure your spot.
